A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR JASON

I am excited to be a part of First Baptist and I hope you share my belief that our church’s ministries are a blessing to our church and community. As we continue to grow, we are faced with a challenge. Our current monthly income is used for our operating budget, and we must now find a solution to move forward where God is leading us.

We have named our upcoming stewardship campaign Finish the Vision. We hope that with God’s guidance, this campaign will fulfill our financial needs. We are asking every household to prayerfully consider making a sacrificial commitment over the next three years, in addition to your ongoing tithes and offerings. This commitment will help us raise the necessary funds to move forward in ministry, and your involvement is vital.

Please make plans to attend our special service on Sunday, April 7th. During this service, you will learn more about our Phase 1 building project and Finish the Vision, as well as the importance of church-wide prayer as we move forward. Please note that no financial commitments will be asked for or received on this day.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

In His Name,

Pastor Jason Pounds

CAMPAIGN PURPOSE

In 2002, First Baptist Church Sweetwater, under the leadership of Pastor Don Edwards, stepped out in faith to fulfill a vision of building a Family life center. Unfortunately, that vision was never fully realized. However, in many ways, God has brought that vision back to the church.

First Baptist is now taking a step of faith to fulfill the vision of constructing a multipurpose building that will provide adequate space for growing ministries. This new building will also provide the spaces needed to implement new ministries envisioned to further reach and impact our community for Christ.

Through God’s help and provision, the Finish the Vision campaign will enable the church to build Phase 1 of the total building project, which includes a multipurpose building and recreational fields. The building will feature a gymnasium, youth worship space, industrial kitchen, showers, and other features still to be determined. The recreational fields with playgrounds and pavilion will enable the church to carry out ministries that reach and impact the community.

The Finish the Vision campaign is a step towards accomplishing this vision and seeing lives forever changed. As the church seeks the Lord and His provision in this endeavor, may we have the same mindset as the great hymn of faith, “Wherever He leads I’ll go.”

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What is the purpose of the campaign?

The Finish the Vision campaign will enable the church to build Phase 1 of the total building project, which includes a multipurpose building and recreational fields. The building will feature a gymnasium, youth worship space, industrial kitchen, showers, and other features still to be determined. The recreational fields with playgrounds and pavilion will enable the church to carry out ministries that reach and impact the community.

How will building help us reach our community for Christ?

We wholeheartedly believe that God has given us a vision to reach the lost in Sweetwater and the surrounding community for Christ.

The new building will offer additional space for our growing ministries and allow us to expand our capacity to offer new fellowship and discipleship opportunities that will serve all ages of our church family.

Additionally, the new facilities and fields will allow us to implement community outreach-focused ministries such as Upward sports programs,  that will help us to better serve our community and reach them for Christ.

How will we pay for this?

We have faith that the First Baptist family will rise to the challenge that God has set for us. With His help and our sacrificial giving, we will reach our goals and build a facility to help us lead the way for future generations.

How can I help?

  • First and foremost, pray regularly for the “Fulfill the Vision” campaign.
  •  Secondly, participate in events and meetings. Commit to learn as much as possible about the campaign and the vision it will fulfill.
  • Lastly, Give sacrificially. The vision God has given us can only be achieved through faith and sacrifice. We have the privilege of growing God’s kingdom.

Pray the Lord would speak to you as you consider your part in the Finish the Vision Campaign.
